Oxbow farmers Adam McCurdy, Luke Woodward, and Sarah Cassidy have a combined 40 years of farming experience and they are amazing mentors. My second season of apprenticeship has been about seeing how a bigger production farm works to get good food to a larger number of people.
I got to live in a sweet yurt, I learned how to drive a tractor and a 16 foot box truck, and I got to raise rabbits as a personal project. This was all in addition to the glorious daily work of making a 25-acre farm run and produce amazing food for a receptive community. My second year of apprenticeship served to cement some of the knowledge of my Bainbridge year as well as add new techniques and tricks to my farming skillset.
